Sunset Wedding | Cwrt Bleddyn | Cardiff Photographer
There is nothing better for me than taking couple portraits just before sunset. Also known as the golden hour due to everything being drenched in golden sunshine. This creates the dramatic light I am always looking for. This look is best achieved in summer weddings, but can certainly be achieved at other times of the year.
Ellen & David chose to have their couple shots done after the reception. Being a summer wedding in South Wales, The Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel & Spa was the perfect setting for this, situated approximately 25 minutes from Cardiff. The couple were allowed to enjoy their drinks and canapés before a brief family formal session then all the hungry guests could go straight to the reception. By 8.30pm, the couple were more relaxed and this shows in the gesture between them both here.
When it comes to equipment, the longest lens I have in my bag works best in this scenario. I can create a very pleasing indistinct background, which lifts the couple right off the page. It is also extremely flattering the face and body shape. A shorter, wider lens here would have produced a very different, and in my opinion, an inferior image in this situation.
This particular image was a focal point in their bespoke wedding album.
We provide albums from the most prestigious manufacturers in the world, one of them being Jorgensen Wedding Albums.
It also attracts much attention when we exhibit with it at South Wales wedding fayres.Location: Cwrt Bleddyn, Usk, South Wales.
