This image is from one of my favourite weddings of 2016. And also, one of my favourite wedding venues in South Wales.
The Manor, is nestled on the side of a hill on the southern borders of Powys. Easily accessible from Brecon, Abergavenny, Newport and Cardiff. The weather was stunning and I knew when this bride booked me that this one was going to be amazing!
The Manor is part of the TasteInnWales Chain of hotels, and are proprietors of other great venues in South Wales such as Peterstone Court, and The Castle.
This picture was taken during the getting ready part of the day, otherwise known as 'Bridal Prep'. Our bride forewent her right to be late and got ready with plenty of time to spare before the ceremony. I love it when this happens, because at this point the bride is looking her absolute sparkling best. Hair and make-up have literally been applied minutes before and she is now 'Photo Ready'. I always try and create a portrait like this for every bride, but due to the hectic nature of the day before the ceremony, this often doesn't happen.
I simply sat our bride in front of the window in the bridal suite, then I got up high. I think I stood on a chair, but lets keep that to ourselves as the hotel may not be impressed. Using my favourite 85mm 1.4 lens I was able to create this incredible texture. I really love this image, and the bride looks incredible.
If you're planning your big day at this wonderful venue, and you're looking for a photographer in South Wales, we would love to return to this venue.
